We’re also announcing an exciting new ticketed experience in our Roasteries for you to explore.

Introducing the New Coffee Roasting and Tasting Tour

Available exclusively at Starbucks Reserve Roasteries, the new Coffee Roasting and Tasting Tour ticketed experience offers a behind-the-scenes look into the art of coffee roasting and tasting. Guests will meet with a Starbucks Reserve coffee roaster who will reveal the intricacies of the roasting process. Next, they will explore two extraordinary coffees in a barista-guided tasting. They will learn expert brewing techniques while discovering the nuances of single-origin and microblend coffee flavor notes, just like the professionals do. Guests will also take home a freshly-roasted bag of Starbucks Reserve coffee beans as a delicious reminder of their experience. Limited tickets are available for this experience and booking in advance is recommended.

Starbucks Reserve Coffee Tastings

Discover the Art of Brewing and Tasting, Up Close

Every week in FeBREWary, you can witness the art of brewing demonstrations firsthand. Baristas will be demonstrating their deep knowledge, featuring a different brewing technique paired with a single-origin Starbucks Reserve coffee. Each brewing technique produces a distinct flavor profile, complexity of taste, body and aroma. From Chemex to uKeg Nitro, Coffee Press and the exclusively-designed Starbucks Reserve Pour Over, the perfect method is chosen to highlight the best of the coffee, so you can learn how brewing, taste and aroma work together.

Week 1: Nicaragua Maracaturra Tres Procesos + Chemex

Nicaragua Maracaturra Tres Prescesos is a truly unique coffee from Nicaragua, where the delicate Maracaturra plant produces coffee beans that are monumental in size. The beans are processed using three methods – washed, honey processed, and sun-dried, then blended together. The end result? A bold profile of tart and citrusy rhubarb marmalade with pops of sweet bing cherry.

Invented by a German chemist in 1941, the Chemex brewing method is the perfect match for this coffee. As the water flows through the grounds to the large glass below, the double-thick filter removes oils and particles and slows down the extraction. This results in an extremely clean, crisp, balanced cup that lets the flavors of Nicaragua Maracaturra Tres Procesos shine.

Week 2: Sun-dried Ethiopia Oromia West Arsi + uKeg Nitro

Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of coffee, and Sun-dried Ethiopia Oromia West Arsi is a delicious example of the region’s wild, juicy flavors. After harvest, these beans are hand-sorted and sun-dried for three weeks – showcasing the essence of Ethiopia’s tradition & innovation. Sun-drying the beans helps produce the coffee’s distinct, fruity flavors of mulberry, sweet date and eucalyptus, with a toffee-like finish.

The uKeg Nitro is engineered to create rich, premium nitro cold brew at home. In a custom matte black finish just for Starbucks Reserve, it’s perfect for coffees like Sun-dried Ethiopia Oromia West Arsi. The coffee itself is delicious any way you brew it, but the flavors truly come through when brewed cold. The uKeg is excellent because it calibrates the pressure automatically, and it’s engineered to keep the coffee cold and fresh without leaks.

Week 3: Mexico Tenejapa San Cristobal + Pour Over

Located in Mexico’s Southern States, San Cristóbal de las Casas is designated a “Pueblo Mágico”, or Magic Town. It’s an origin celebrated for cultural vibrancy, as well as rich soil and a variable climate. It’s also ideal for growing exceptional coffee like Mexico Tenejapa San Cristobal. With zesty citrus aromas and notes of candied kumquat, toasted almond, cocoa nibs and a syrupy sweetness, its bright flavors are a perfect tribute to the town’s spirit and history.

The exclusively-designed Starbucks Reserve Pour Over is our own take on a classic brewing technique invented in 1908. The beautiful brewer and stand were custom-designed by Starbucks to be the perfect balance of form and function. The metal cone filter helps distribute and hold heat evenly through the pour-over process, extracting nuanced flavor and a beautiful cup free of oil and sediment. It’s an amazing choice for Mexico Tenejapa San Cristobal, producing a clean, flavorful, and aromatic coffee.

Week 4: Sun-dried Guatemala Antigua Finca Medina + Coffee Press

This fabled farm in the foothills of Guatemala’s Agua Volcano has been producing beautiful coffee since 1842. Sun-dried Guatemala Antigua Finca Medina is our first-ever naturally-processed coffee from the country, and it was worth the wait. The beans are dried on raised beds in the sun for 25 days. The drying fruit gives the roasted coffee its decadent flavors – notes of vanilla, dried fig, and dark chocolate with cedar accents. Sweet and rich, it is a taste of liquid sunshine.

Simple and consistent, the coffee press is one of the most well-known ways to brew a delicious cup, and for good reason. Coarse ground coffee is fully immersed in hot water, then left to extract for four minutes. The plunger separates the grounds to the bottom through a fine mesh filter. The even extraction releases the coffee’s flavorful oils for a rich, full-bodied cup. Every bit of the decadent, sweet flavor of a coffee like Sun-dried Guatemala Antigua Finca Medina is allowed to come through, for a cup worth savoring.
